IDAHO CLUB RESIDENCE

The design for this small garden centers on a simple, site‑driven goal: to establish a natural, low‑maintenance buffer between the home and the road using plants that are inherently suited to mountain conditions. The composition relies on species that offer resilience, seasonal character, and minimal water demand once established, ensuring the landscape performs effortlessly in a high‑elevation climate.

The planting palette draws from native and regionally adapted species, including quaking aspen for vertical lightness and movement, and red‑twig dogwood for winter color and structure. Together, these selections create a soft, layered screen with seasonal interest that is rooted in a sense of place.
